es una entidad de carácter no lucrativo fundada en Abril de 1984, en Bellaterra, para promover y coordinar el estudio del comportamiento animal, tanto teórico como aplicado. La Sociedad se creó con el fin de favorecer la colaboración y comunicación entre los etólogos de habla hispana, y difundir los conocimientos etológicos a través de publicaciones, congresos, charlas, y docencia de la Etología en los diversos planes de estudio.
